Thank you for your interest in joining the Los Angeles LGBT Center's CAN Program in our summer program, The Self-Love Book Club! Please fill out this interest form and we will get back to you with next steps within the next few week days.
About The Self Love Book Club:
As LGBTQ+ youth, we are not often given the opportunity to discuss love and relationships with each other in a safe space. This book club aims to provide a space for youth to create connections with each other and ourselves as we learn how to think critically and support each other in the process of creating change in our communities. Self-love as a community-based concept, allows us to examine the structures that act as barriers to self-love and teaches us how to critically think and support each other by centering community and self.
Commitment:
Are you an LGBTQ+ youth between the ages of 16-24 interested in exploring topics like self love, community care, student organizing, and coming together to create sustainable change? Using adrienne maree brown’s Emergent Strategy as a resource, this weekly virtual reading group will examine our lived experiences with ourselves, our relationships, and larger social justice movements. Self-love means love ethics for ourselves, our communities, and our world. This book club is open to all LGBTQ+ youth (ages 16-24) who are available to meet and discuss with us on Tuesday's from 3-4PM PST (4PM MT, 5PM CT, 6PM ET). Limited spots are available and all participants are able to receive the book free of cost.
